I was fitted for these irons by PING last year (2012) and have been very pleased with them since. They have tour workability, good feel/feedback and are slightly forgiving on mishits. PING makes extraordinary equipment, perhaps the best on the market right now, and these S56 irons are among the best on the market right now.
Great set of clubs

These irons are focused to the better player though. I'm not saying that a higher handicapper can't hit these, some could. But probability wise they won't hit them clean as much as one should and would be better off with something else. Even though they are cast and not forged, the still give plenty off feedback with extreme workability. Not only can I work it low, high, left or right, but my Accuracy is pin point. Although a little pricey, they are most definitely worth the money. Hit em well!!

I recently tried out the Ping s56 irons at a local GG store and loved them! Even though they are focused towards the better player, I found them extremely easy to hit, and very forgiving. The feedback from the irons was incredible, and the feel was surprisingly soft for a cast iron. I was able to hit the the ball high, low, draw it, and fade it. The workability on these clubs is awesome. I wanna buy them so badly right now but don't have the money yet I highly recommend trying these out!!
